How To Lose Weight Fast With Coconut Oil

How To Lose Weight Fast With Coconut Oil

Lose, Weight, Fast, With, Coconut, Oil

Everybody these days wants to lose weight quickly. Perhaps it's those added maternity pounds that merely typically aren't coming off regardless of all the exercising in the world. Maybe it's the midlife spreading waistline. Or perhaps you've always been a little overweight.

Among the best things you can do to conveniently lose the extra pounds without significantly changing your way of living (besides going ultra-low carb as well as abandoning grains completely) is to consume coconut oil.

In The U.S.A's recent past, the coconut has obtained an undeserved bad name.

Why?

Due to the fact that it is high in saturated fats, and also they were unjustly demonized. Cutting-edge research has virtually shredded the majority of The Lipid Theory-- the concept that there is a direct connection between saturated fat as well as cholesterol intake in the diet with incidence of coronary heart problem. We currently understand, for example, that most of the studies which revealed nutritional consumption of saturated fats (especially those utilizing coconut oil) were bad for you were actually proving that trans fats bad for you.

But unrefined, virgin coconut oil is an excellent and traditional fat and contains no trans-fats whatsoever.

Just how can C.O. improve your metabolic process as well as promote weight-loss?

1. It's high in medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs). A research study released in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found patients lost weight when they included MCFA's in their diet plan. As a matter of fact, when you compare a diet plan including coconut oil or MCFA's, it was found that people lost much more weight making use of MCFA's.

2. It's high in lauric acid. Lauric acid is an MCFA so it will certainly not just possibly help you lose weight ( the per the study above), but it's additionally documented to have outstanding antiviral, antibacterial, as well as antiprotozoal properties. In other words, it fights everything from the common cold to serious lipid-coated viruses such as HIV and herpes!

3. It may lower your food cravings. When you add coconut oil into your diet plan, you'll really feel much more full and eat less calories over all.

Still Don't Believe Me?

Look into the incredible progress these two women had when they eliminated the junk fats (vegetable oils like corn, soy, and also canola) from their diet plans and switched to much healthier fats (like coconut and olive oil).

Locating Good Quality Coconut Oil.

Today you can find a good quality coconut oil almost everywhere. Just read the label to insure it is Extra Virgin, Organic and Cold Processed. Be sure that it has NOT been Refined, GMO Free, Trans Fat Free, NOT bleached or Deodorized, Cholesterol Free and Hexane Free.

We now recognize, for example, that many of the researches which showed nutritional consumption of saturated fats (specifically those utilizing coconut oil) were bad for you were in fact showing that trans fats are bad for you.

When you compare a diet plan including coconut oil or MCFA's, it was found that individuals lost much more weight making use of MCFA's.

When you add coconut oil right into your diet, you'll really feel a lot more full and eat less over all.

My Experience With the Bulletproof Coffee Diet

My Experience With the Bulletproof Coffee Diet

Experience, With, Bulletproof, Coffee, Diet

Every so often a weight loss method hits the market and everyone goes crazy over it. The weight loss method that I have come across today is something called Bullet Proof Coffee. Bullet proof coffee was created by Dave Asprey who learned of it from a bunch of Sherpas at 18,000 foot in tibet.

If I am totally honest, every time I come across a fad diet I am automatically skeptical. I've been around for long enough to know that when hype words like "toxins"or "fat burners" are used then usually the product is more hype than substance.

Within a few minutes of reading about Bullet proof coffee I had read these hype words multiple times. Bullet proof coffee claims to increase productivity, concentration, creativity and burn fat. Already after reading the above I become more skeptical. Bullet proof coffee is to be used as a meal replacement, so instead of having breakfast you would have a cup of bullet proof coffee.

To make a bullet proof coffee you need:

Organic Coffee,
½ of grass-fed, unsalted butter
1 tablespoon of MCT oil

First blend the butter and the MCT oil together before pouring it into the coffee. The concept behind the bullet proof coffee is that the unsalted natural butter is full of saturated fat that will sit in your stomach and break down slowly. This supposedly keeps you feeling fuller for longer and along with the coffee you will have a lot of energy. The MCT oil is also supposed to have metabolism boosting properties. Sounds good, however I found the truth is different from the claims.

I replaced my morning breakfast with the bullet proof coffee for 14 days and by the end of it I wanted to eat my normal breakfast. The only good point of taking the bullet proof coffee was that I found it woke me up very quickly. The coffee tasted very strong as the butter did not dilute it much, so if you like strong coffee this would also be a bonus. Other than waking me up which a normal coffee does then I honestly did not find much use for this weight loss method. For me the bullet proof coffee had many problems.

First of all, the butter was supposed to keep me fuller for longer. This claim is absolute rubbish. Bullet proof coffee contains roughly 400 calories. Thats a whole chocolate bar and more. One cup contains around 51 grams of fat, 0 carbs and 1g of protein. Compare that to the nutrients in a normal breakfast and you could be getting up to a 1/3rd less nutrients, and you also feel hungrier.

Another thing that I hated about this weight loss method was that the butter and the coffee would separate and it would look horrible, however this did not affect the taste, and I was pleasantly surprised.

Conclusion

If I was asked to do the bullet proof coffee diet again I wouldn't as I did not find it useful and in the two weeks my weight stayed roughly the same. This however was to be expected as I kept my diet roughly the same and at my basal metabolic rate. I did this so I could test if the bullet proof coffee had metabolism boosting effects. It did not, and like everything concerning diet, the only way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you consume.

Having said the above, I can see the science behind the method, and I can also see why it would work for some people, however drinking coffee alone will not make you lose weight. You will still need to eat less than your body burns to lose weight.

If you're looking to put your body into a state of ketosis to lose weight then this diet may be something you could look at. I think ultimately you are going to have to decide for yourself, me personally I would rather replace coffee with a cup of oats, a protein shake and some peanut butter. 1 its much cheaper, 2 its tastier and 3 it will keep you feeling fuller and give you a slow release of energy throughout the day. As you can tell from my review I was not much of a fan.

Garcinia Cambogia, Does HCA Inhibit the Production of Fat?

Garcinia Cambogia, Does HCA Inhibit the Production of Fat?

Garcinia, Cambogia, Does, HCA, Inhibit, Production, Fat

The first interesting fact that I discovered was that Tamarind and Garcinia are not the same fruit. The tamarind actually grows in a brown pod and the inside texture of the pod is gummy much like the inside of a prune. The taste has been described as sweet and tangy. The garcinia fruit looks like a small green pumpkin on the outside and much like a grapefruit on the inside and has a sour taste to it.

HCA (Hydroxycitric Acid) found in the rind of the Garcinia fruit is said to be the fat binding agent that everyone is so eager to get their hands on. This is due to the reported success results it has had in so many case studies. HCA has had a lot of conflicting results due mostly to inadequate dose levels in the supplements. Science is still trying to find the dose of HCA that delivers the highest results while still being safe for human consumption. The most safe and effective dosage they've concluded to date is 1600mg per day. While Garcinia Cambogia has had no reported side effects in healthy subjects, an article published on wellness.com recommends against its use by diabetics. This is simply because it has been known to lower blood sugar levels. It is also recommended to avoid taking Garcinia if you take medication for regulating cholesterol (lipator etc) or antidepressants because Garcinia also affects serotonin levels thus potentially interfering with the effectiveness of your antidepressant meds. Studies have noted that calcium can disrupt the absorption of the carbohydrates by the HCA, how ever naturally occurring potassium will encourage this function.

A 2006 study, split into two groups conducted on 135 over weight, but otherwise healthy individuals showing group #1 receiving the Garcinia and group #2 receiving a placebo. The study showed that both groups did lose weight, but group #1 lost about 1-2 lbs more on average and showed drops in their cholesterol levels as well.

An evidence based review by Authority Nutrition stated, that in a study conducted on rats the HCA inhibited a fat enzyme called "citrate lyase" thus stopping the body from making fat out of carbohydrates. This has also been a fact shown in human case studies as well, but at somewhat of a less consistent level. This is most likely due to the inadequate dosing as stated above, but one may also conclude that diet and level of activity would also play rolls in this effect as well.

Studies have reported that effective supplements should contain a minimum of 60% HCA or higher in order to achieve successful results. It is also recommended to avoid products that contain fillers and binders. Fillers and binders would be anything on the label that is not the plant and the capsule.

For all practical purposes however we know that everyone is going to have varying results because, everyone is different. My conclusion without a doubt is that every bit of information I uncovered did show that subjects lost weight period. With that being said I just want to encourage all readers to talk to a doctor, dietitian or a nutritionist if you have any questions.

Weight Is Not a Food Problem

Weight Is Not a Food Problem

Weight, Food, Problem
Weight is not a food problem. Weight is not a physical problem.

Our bodies will react to what our minds are thinking.

For those who don't want to work very hard, who don't want to change their thinking, well... there are lots of options. The marketplace is flooded with diet books, each proclaiming to be "the one" for permanent weight loss. Or, you can find a doctor to either prescribe diet pills to suppress appetites or to give you injections to over-stimulate your metabolism. Or, you can join the myriad of diet programs who sell packaged foods, powdered drinks, herbs, vitamins, supplements, energy bars, pills, etc., delivered by package right to your door; you don't even have to walk to the mailbox!

On the other hand, for those who have come to terms with the fact that slow and steady weight loss is healthy weight loss, and that the only way to accomplish this is with a lifestyle change, you've tackled the first and most important issue-acceptance that you will have to work to lose weight and to manage your weight loss your entire life. Learning how to eat correctly using normal, regular, everyday foods that you shop for in the supermarket; learning portion control; planning and keeping a food diary to not only intimately connect you with the weight loss process but to encourage you to make your own well-being a daily priority-all are the must do components of an effective, permanent weight loss program.

We all want to be slim and to enjoy all the benefits it provides: The best chance for good health (instead of the onslaught of all the medical problems associated with overweight and obesity); buying clothes that we want to wear (instead of trying to find clothes that cover us); looking younger than our years and having the energy to really enjoy life (instead of getting older before our time and being mistaken for our kids' grandparents); liking ourselves and having the confidence necessary to be a participant in life's pleasures (instead of sitting on the sidelines as an observer); living vs. existing. And, perhaps one of the most important aspects of learning how to lose and maintain weight in a healthy way is that we can pass along a healthier diet and eating habits to our kids. After all, an adult can choose to be overweight or obese. A child cannot. They learn from the environments in which they are raised.

If you want your body to change, you must first change your mind.

Determining How Many Calories to Reduce For Safe Weight Loss

Determining How Many Calories to Reduce For Safe Weight Loss

Determining, Many, Calories, Reduce, Safe, Weight, Loss

To achieve peak performance, most athletes strive to reach their ideal body weight during the competitive season. Making weight is particularly important for weightlifters, boxers, and other athletes who compete in specific weight classes.

While losing fat weight may be a training goal, cutting too many calories can adversely affect an athlete's performance, as well as his or her health. Weight control calculators are useful tools that provide an estimate of the number of calories needed daily and are, therefore, a means of planning safe weight reduction.

Using these calculators, find your daily caloric expenditure by simply adding (1) Resting Calories and (2) Activity Calories:

1. The Basal Energy Expenditure (B.E.E.) Calculator. This represents the number of calories you need just to live all day at rest. www-users.med.cornell.edu/~spon/picu/calc/beecalc.htm

2. The Activity Calculator. This represents the number of calories you expend with daily activity. primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/jumpsite/calculat.htm

Example: If you expend 1,500 resting calories and 1,000 activity calories each day, you would expend a total of 2,500 calories. How many calories should you cut each day to lose weight safely?

It takes a deficit of 3,500 calories to lose a pound of fat. A deficit of 500 calories per day (by cutting food intake and/or increasing activity) would result in a loss of 1 lb. per week--a reasonable plan for the athlete in this example. But cutting 1,000 calories per day would likely not support this athlete's energy needs. In time, inadequate caloric intake could result in poor performances, weakness, and related health issues.

Reducing calories by 15-20% below your daily caloric requirement is reasonable and safe. According to the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), calorie levels should never drop below 1,200 calories per day for women or 1,800 calories per day for men.

7 Common Fitness Training Mistakes and How to Correct Them

7 Common Fitness Training Mistakes and How to Correct Them
Common, Fitness, Training, Mistakes, Correct, Them

When we begin a new fitness program, we are energized to work out and optimistic about achieving our goals. As the weeks pass, our enthusiasm may fade. Workouts may become less frequent and eventually cease altogether before we reap the anticipated benefits.

Studies show that 50% of individuals who start a self-monitored fitness program will stop exercising within six months. The dropout rate is very high when a fitness program is begun at a very high intensity level and when self-motivation to exercise is low. (1)

Following sound principles and practices can reduce exercise missteps, produce better results, and encourage fitness program adherence. The following are 7 common fitness training mistakes and suggestions for correcting them.

1. Vague goals. Goal setting is a key motivator for exercise adherence. Well-defined goals guide decisions about the types of exercises and regimens that will produce the intended results. Set both short-term and long-term goals that are specific, realistic, challenging, and achievable. (2)

2. Beginning fitness levels not assessed. When individuals begin exercise programs, they seldom take inventory of their initial health and fitness status. Assessments offer baseline measures on which to show progress. Test yourself on items related to your goals so that you have clear training targets and can establish reasonable time lines to achieve them. Reaching each milestone demonstrates success and inspires greater self confidence to continue exercising.

3. Loosely focused training program. Without appropriate exercise regimens that specifically target goals, results can be haphazard. A well-designed fitness program can streamline the path toward your expected outcomes while preventing the frustration of slow progress or no progress at all. Unless you are familiar with exercise principles, you may need to rely on professional guidance to develop a well-planned program.

4. Program not individualized. No two individuals are alike, nor do they respond in exactly the same way to exercise. Fitness level, gender, posture, medical history, personal goals, and many other factors provide a basis for individualizing exercise programs. Personalizing your program to fit your needs and preferences will yield faster results.

5. Working too hard. The "more-is-better" philosophy of training is not as effective as you might expect. Training with variations in workout routines produce better results than training to failure or exhaustion. Adequate recovery periods are necessary to prevent dropping out of exercise activities due to overtraining.

6. Not working hard enough. If exercise is too easy, you will be frustrated by the lack of results. A general guideline is to work out within a target zone of 60-85% of maximum effort. As you adapt to specific exercise regimens and your performances improve, you must gradually and progressively increase your work load so that you continue to train within the 60-85% range. (3)

7. Insufficient stretching. As muscles become stronger and tone improves, it is important to stretch prior to and after workouts. Maintaining adequate flexibility is essential for preventing aggravating injuries that can contribute to quitting exercise programs.

Fitness training mistakes are avoidable. As you learn more about exercise and apply sound principles, you will encounter fewer disappointments and realize more consistent gains. If you continue to work wisely, diligently, and safely, you can ultimately achieve your fitness goals.

How to Set Your Fitness Training Goals.?

How to Set Your Fitness Training Goals

How, Set, Fitness, Training, Goals

Setting fitness training goals is a first step toward giving direction to your exercise program. Goals project a path that leads to the level of health and fitness you envision. Clear measures of your expected outcomes crystallize your progress along the way.

Many can readily express their primary goal as, "to get fit". But what exactly will being fit look like, and how will you know when you have arrived?

There are many ways to demonstrate that your fitness level is improving. Subjectively, you may seem more vibrant, shapely, and toned. But you also need concrete ways of measuring improvements.

Correctly developed goals promote adherence to your fitness program. Witnessing visible progress inspires even greater effort toward achieving goals.

Ideal fitness goals are:

1. Stated in specific performance outcomes: The key is to select a few goals with clearly defined outcomes that exemplify the fitness qualities you hope to develop. Examples are: (a) wear size 12 jeans, (b) walk 5 miles without stopping, (c) bench press 200 pounds, or (d) reduce proportion of body fat weight to 25%.

2. Directly measurable: Each of these outcomes can be assessed early in training and evaluated throughout your program. They provide objective indicators of your improvement. There will be no question as to whether or not you have accomplished them.

3. Targeted for specific short-term and long-term completion dates: Set a date when you expect to achieve your long-term goals. Then establish short-term goals that you at specific dates along a time line (e.g., monthly, every 6 weeks). Short-term goals are mile markers-check points of your progress toward your long-term goals.

4. Realistic and achievable: Given your starting point or current condition, could you potentially achieve these fitness goals within the projected time line?

Goals should be challenging, but not overly aggressive or virtually impossible to reach. If you mistakenly set your goals too high or too low, adjust the targeted values and/or dates accordingly.

Examples of good goal statements are:

*Fit into size 14 jeans by April 1 and size 12 jeans by June 1.
*Walk 2 miles without resting by February 15, 4 miles by April 1, and 5 miles by June 1.
*Bench press 75 lbs. 5 times by April 15 and 100 lbs. one time by June 1.
*Achieve 30% body fat weight by March 1, and 25% by June 1.

Be patient as you navigate the path you set forth. Even if it takes longer than anticipated to achieve your fitness goals, celebrate your milestones and keep going!
